...18th Teleport Awards for Excellence during an exclusive luncheon at Satellite 2013. The awards are presented each year to organizations and individuals in the teleport industry whose achievements have been deemed exceptional by the international trade association and its awards committees, made up of industry members from across the globe. The 2013 recipients are:

Teleport Technology of the Year: M6100 Broadcast Satellite Modulator from Newtec. Newtec's M6100 Broadcast Satellite Modulator is the new generation DVB-S2, DVB-DSNG and DVB-S modulator specifically designed for broadcast DTH, primary distribution to headends and contribution of television and radio content. The M6100 can be used in conjunction with set-top boxes, professional IRD’s or professional satellite demodulators such as the AZ910. Serge van Herck of Newtec was on hand at the luncheon to accept the award on behalf of Newtec.

The 2013 Luncheon and Awards Ceremony, sponsored by SES, hosted many of the world’s leading teleport operators and previous winners of WTA’s Teleport Awards for Excellence. Chris Grogan, Senior Vice President, Customer Services Delivery, SES, gave the host’s welcome to the guests and finalists at the luncheon. He then joined WTA’s Director of Development Louis Zacharilla and WTA's Chairman, M. Brett Belinsky, to announce the winners.
