WAPA Gains Some Latitude


Latitude SkyNode S100 Latitude Technologies announced that the Western Area Power Administration (WAPA) within the U.S. Department of Energy has selected Latitude to provide a suite of SATCOM hardware products and related services for its helicopter fleet.  Century Helicopters Inc. of Fort Collins, Colorado, will be responsible for the installation. Western Area Power Administration markets and delivers reliable, cost-based hydroelectric power and related services within a 15-state region of the central and western U.S.  Their transmission system carries electricity from 57 power plants operated by the Bureau of Reclamation, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the International Boundary and Water Commission and is regularly patrolled by its Bell 407 rotorcraft fleet.
