TeamCast has signed a Licensing Agreement with S2 Licensing, an organization formed to facilitate the licensing of essential DVB-S2 patents held by DTVG Licensing, Inc., Radiotelevisione Italiana (“RAI”), and the European Space Agency (ESA). DVB-S2 is the second generation satellite delivery system that builds on DVB-S, using the latest modulation and coding techniques, to deliver superior performance and improved payload bit rates. The DVB-S2 specification has been accepted by the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) as European Standard EN 302 307.

TeamCast has recently launched new DVB-S/S2 products: Vyper, a DVB-S/S2 modulator, and Syper, a DVB-S/S2 demodulator. Vyper is a state of the art DVB-S/S2 modulator for satellite contribution, satellite distribution, and DTH networks and supports CCM, VCM and ACM modes as well as QPSK, 8PSK, 16 & 32 APSK modulation ,ensuring a useful symbol rate up to 45 Mbauds. Syper is the latest generation of satellite demodulation, fully compliant to both DVB-S and DVB-S2 standards, and it also supports CCM, VCM and ACM modes and demodulates up to 32 APSK constellations with bitrates up to 170 Mbits/s. Syper is multi-stream DVB-S2 compliant and can offer up to 5 parallel ASI outputs.
