COM DEV International... Moving On Up...

COM DEV International Ltd. (TSX:CDV) has appointed Dave Lizius as the President of COM DEV Canada, the Ottawa-based division responsible for the Company's Canadian government business. David Lizius is a 30 year veteran of the space industry. Since joining COM DEV in 1997, he has led a number of growth initiatives including the establishment of operations in the United States. In late 2006, Dr. Lizius relocated temporarily to California to create COM DEV USA and lead the operation through its first year, buying and outfitting the state-of-the art facility, initiating the successful acquisition of the Passive Microwave Devices product line and hiring the key staff, including the division's president. More recently he was COM DEV International's Vice President of Corporate Development.

Dr. Lizius began his career at Marconi Space Systems (now part of Astrium) as a design engineer and program manager on commercial and military programs. He later worked at the UK Atomic Energy Authority during its privatization to become AEA Technology. He had a leadership role in creating start-up commercial business units harnessing the technology and scientific talent originally developed on the UK's fusion program. Dr. Lizius led an electromagnetics software development group that was later sold to a major UK corporation which continues to sell the leading edge software design tools developed. He ultimately led AEA's Space and Defence Division supplying a range of space technologies including antennas, IR calibration systems, thrusters and power systems products. Dr. Lizius obtained a BSc in Physics from Bristol University, and a PhD in electrical engineering from London University, where his research focused on unfurlable antennas for satellites.
