SatStream... Operations Of Olympic Proportions (SatBroadcasting™)

[SatNews] SatStream will be offering the central London facility for hire during the Olympics later this year.

SatStream’s broadcast-standard teleport, located in the heart of London, is a purpose-built facility, designed to enable broadcasters and rights owners to ensure that their coverage is managed exactly as it should be: in the right place, at the right time, to the right people. The facility enables multiplatform delivery: SatStream has extensive experience delivering content across the Internet to various platforms, including PCs, STB’s, iOS and mobile devices. The facility ensures broadcasters a large amount of available bandwidth for delivering video content. SatStream has adequate space for all production requirements, including commentary booths for those all-important sports commentaries. The facility is also equipped to manage multiple language versioning, a key factor for those broadcasters covering more than one territory or language preference.

“Broadcasting the Olympics will come with its challenges, more so for those broadcasters without a fixed production space in which to handle the hundreds of hours of feeds locally and to customise, package and deliver to the host broadcasters back home,” said Alan Mercer, SatStream’s Head of Operations. “There are plenty of improvised solutions available with their associated risks. We believe broadcasters will welcome the use of a convenient, broadcast-standards facility which is not priced ‘per 15 minutes’.”

SatStream will be making the facility (with ample parking) available for hire before, during and after the Olympics (including the Paralympics) later this year.
