GMV Space Systems... Highflying With hifly (Services)

[SatNews] GMV Space Systems, the U.S. company of GMV, a leading global ground system supplier, has been selected as part of a General Dynamics C4 Systems-led team to modernize the ground system for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s (NASA) Tracking Data and Relay Satellite (TDRS) constellation — the project is known as the Space Network Ground Segment Sustainment (SGSS).

The mission of the SGSS project is to implement a flexible and extensible ground segment that will allow the space network to maintain the high level of service in the future, and accommodate new users and capabilities, while reducing the effort required to operate and maintain the system in the future. As part of a four-year contract with General Dynamics C4 Systems, GMV Space Systems will provide several functions for the ground segment modernization. These solutions include: fleet management satellite telemetry and telecommand based on GMV’s product hifly®; archiving and trending based on GMV’s product archiva; service management planning and scheduling based on GMV’s product flexplan, as well as systems engineering, and integration and test support. The contract represents GMV’s second project with General Dynamics C4 Systems. GMV’s role in the SGSS project also adds to the company’s experience supporting NASA and other US Government missions, including the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO), and the Landsat Data Continuity Mission (LDCM).
