Moving On Up... @ GlobeCast Australia... (SatBroadcasting)


GlobeCast Australia has announced changes to its Direct-To-Home (DTH) satellite services management team. Tony Thornton has been appointed to the position of DTH Manager, reporting to GlobeCast Australia’s’ DTH Director Mark Lobwein. Mr Thornton has more than 30 years experience in broadcasting and will replace Nitish Gawde, who has decided to leave the company in November. GlobeCast Australia’s DTH division specializes in delivering multi-cultural channels from around the world direct to homes in Australasia and currently services more than 130 video and audio channels in genres from general entertainment, religion, sports and business to news. Mr, Thornton has worked in senior executive positions with the Nine Network, Ten Network, and Optus Television, where he managed external channel relations. He is a former head of the Ovation arts channel.
