ORBITZ

  • Radyne's satellite earth station business is now part of Comtech EF Data. By joining forces, customers can avail themselves of expanded product portfolios, with a broad range of bandwidth-efficient infrastructure ranging from DoubleTalk® Carrier-in-Carrier® and SkyWire™ to DVB-S2 solutions. This blending of companies will also offer enhanced pre- and post-sales customer support as well as uniting the engineering groups to develop new and innovative products that can increase return on investment and reduce the operating costs associated with satellite communications

  • Sirius-4 satellite (small) SES ASTRA, via its Nordic affiliate SES SIRIUS, has contracted four transponders on its new orbital position at 31.5° E to the Lithuanian satellite services provider SatGate. SatGate is using the capacity to provide broadband and internet connectivity to households and end customers in Eastern and Central Europe, Russia and its neighboring countries and the Middle East. Part of the capacity will also be used to serve Internet Service Providers who do not have the necessary infrastructure themselves. SatGate has already contracted two transponders on the Sirius 4 satellite.

  • Vocality International has announced that Paradigm, the MoD's exclusive beyond-line-of sight satcoms service provider, has renewed and expanded the Framework Agreement with Vocality for the supply of routers and multiplexers within their networks. Paradigm operate tactical and welfare communications for the British Armed Forces as well as other third party customers. The firm's joint plans for 2009 include the migration from legacy systems in Paradigm to Vocality, as well as the expansion under the Framework Agreement to encompass other members of the Astrium Services group.
