Advantech Wireless—Technology Award @ SATCON 2013 (HPA)

[SatNews] Advantech Wireless’ SapphireBlu(tm) Series of UltraLinear(tm) GaN based High Power Amplifiers has won the Satellite Markets and Research Most Innovative Product of the Year Award for its ground breaking performance and pioneering technology, as with this technology it became possible to saturate all 48 transponders of the modern satellite with the single high power amplifier.

David Gelerman, President and CEO of Advantech Wireless, accepted the award at the Satellite Markets and Research Vision Awards Ceremony during SATCON 2013 in the Jacob Javits Convention Center, New York City.

“We are extremely proud for our SapphireBlu™ Series of high power amplifiers to be recognized as the Most Innovative Product of the Year”," said David Gelerman, CEO of Advantech Wireless. “For the first time in the history of satellite Communications, we were able to saturate all transponders of the satellite with a single 13m antenna and a single amplifier per polarization. This achievement became possible due to the remarkably high level of power and linearity performance and also allows our customers to significantly reduce the cost of capital expenses and more importantly, at fraction of cost, compared to indoor Klystrons or super-linearized TWTs. We are proud to release complete line of the SapphireBluTM Series where we can offer the same solution in C, X, Ku and Ka-bands”

The SapphireBlu™ Series of UltraLinear™ GaN based amplifiers from Advantech Wireless can cover multiple transponders, full DVB-S2 enabled and can save 8 to 15dB power compared to indoor Klystrons or linearized TWTs. This new architecture is designed for Multi-Carrier operations, with power expandable to 3kW by phase combining and soft fail philosophy and is ideal for DTH broadcasting, high data rate telecom services and deep space communication.
