Global Space & Satellite Forum... Disaster Communication Workshop (Event)

[SatNews] All countries are constantly at threat from natural and man-made disasters, whether they are earthquakes, volcanoes, floods, hurricanes, tsunamis or oil spills.

The communication that happens immediately following a disaster is critical to saving lives and rebuilding the affected area. For this, satellite technology is essential for a secure and stable communication network. UN-SPIDER is in the process of developing partnerships and networking with space communications providers to help coordinate the provision of robust emergency communications means to the countries facing such disasters. The aim of this workshop is to bring together parties who have something to offer the process. The meeting will offer an opportunity to present your solutions and UN experts will present their experiences from past disasters. You are invited to this Use of Space Science and Technology for Disaster Management and Emergency Response — the venue is ADNEC in Abu Dhabi on May the 11th from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. To attend, register at the Global Space and Satellite Forum website...
