Satélites Mexicanos, S.A. de C.V Clients Enjoy Being Up Close And Personal (Satellite)


[SatNews] Finances are now solid and so onto the launch... Completing its financial reorganization in May 2011, Satmex has a solid foundation from which it will launch its new, fully funded Satmex 8 satellite service operations beginning in the Third Quarter 2012.

Sharing its success with many of its primary clients, Satmex invited interested parties to facilities at Space Systems Loral in Palo Alto, California, where Satmex 8 is being constructed. During the visit, the Company’s clients validated that the satellite’s construction is progressing on schedule and is ready to enter into the test phase of the program.

“I would like to thank Satmex for hosting the event in San Francisco and for arranging an excellent and cordial atmosphere,” said Zafar Khan, Vice President Systems & Space Engineering, MTN SATELLITE COMMUNICATIONS. “The visit was a great chance to meet up with the team and view the upcoming satellite launch timelines and updates. We look forward to working with Satmex on this and many future projects and want to convey our best wishes for this important project.”

Satmex 8 is based on a SS/L 1300E platform. It will be located in 116.8 degrees W and will consist of 64 transponders with C band and Ku band covering the entire American continent.
