The DoD Commercial SATCOM Users Workshop, running from December 17th through the 19th at the Crystal Gateway Marriott in Arlington, Virginia, is the satellite industry's chance to exhibit their latest satellite-based solutions as they meet participants and speakers from DoD, Functional and Regional Combatant Commands, Military Services, DoD Agencies and many more.
This year's confirmed Thursday morning Keynote Speaker is Lt. Gen Ronnie Hawkins, Director, Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). In addition to Lt. Gen Hawkins, 13 industry speakers are also confirmed for the Wednesday and Thursday morning panels. Two of this year's panel topics are:
- Services: This panel will examine DoD's organizational requirements from the services perspective. Topics will include operational challenges to successful implementation of COMSATCOM systems; current and future COMSATCOM requirements; where COMSATCOM has been helpful to their operations; and where existing shortfalls were a hinderance
- COCOM Panel: This panel will focus on the Combatant Commands' operational challenges to successful implementation of COMSATCOM systems; current and future COMSATCOM requirements; where COMSATCOM has been helpful to their operations; and where existing shortfalls were a hinderance
