John G. Grimes has been named to the iDirect Board of Directors
Grimes is a U.S. Air Force veteran who has held numerous high-ranking federal government positions for the U.S. National Security Council, Department of Defense and the White House. He joins a diverse, global team of senior advisors who are responsible for iDirect’s strategic growth. iDirect is a world leader in satellite-based IP communications technology.
Grimes brings extensive military defense and information technology leadership to the iDirect Board. He served as the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Networks and Information Integration (ASD NII) / Department of Defense Chief Information Officer (CIO) for the U.S. Federal Government from 2005 through 2009. Grimes held prominent public service positions including Director for National Security Telecommunications Policy; Director of Defense Command, Control and Communications Programs; and Senior Director, White House Situation Support Staff.
