Wavestream Makes Headway In China

Wavestream Corporation's Distributor-Partner in The People's Republic of China, Beijing Sat Trac Telecommunications, will showcase Wavestream's Matchbox line of Ku-band Solid-State Power Amplifiers (SSPAs) with integrated Block Upconverters (BUCs) at the 2008 China-Satellite Conference, to be held October 20-23 at the Hotel Nikko in Beijing. Just over a year ago, Wavestream first unveiled its Matchbox line of SSPAs with integrated BUCs in the U.S. Named "Matchbox" for their small size and weight, these amplifiers pack up to 40 Watts of Ku-band power and 12 Watts of Ka-band power into a 9.8- by 5.4- by 4.4-inch package that weighs just nine pounds. The Matchbox line also includes a unit producing 80 Watts of Ku-band power and a unit producing 25 Watts of Ka-band power in an 8- by 5- by 15-inch package weighing less than 25 pounds. Wavestream obtained Type Approval from the People's Republic of China for its 16-, 25-, and 40-Watt Ku-Band Matchbox products this past June, marking a major milestone for the Company as it enables Wavestream to sell a variety of its Ku-Band products in China. The 2008 China-Satellite Conference in Beijing later this month will be the first show of its kind to include the Wavestream product line since the Company obtained this important certification.
