The Japanese mobile operator, eMobile, combined with Huawei Technologies of China have now launched the first HSPA+ net in Japan. This commercial high speed packet evolution network offers users mobile data speeds up to 21.6Mbps. Initially the service will be limited to Fukuoka, Hiroshima, Hokkaido, Nagasaki, Nilgata and Sendai. More than 1.65 million subscribers have committed to this service since the cellco opened up registration back at the end of June.
