An antenna problem has done in the operations of the GeoEye-1 satellite, at least temporarily. GeoEye launch this satellite in September of last year. Apparently the problem rests with the transmission of imagery from the satellite to ground stations, due to the antenna's steering mechanism. Although such a difficulty would not impair the company's ability to service their National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) client, this impediment could certainly have an impact on GeoEye's foreign partners, as they must operate their own ground stations in order to receive imagery from GeoEye-1. Company revenues could certainly be affected to the tune of around 10 percent if this awry antenna problem is not adjudicated quickly.
