SE Asia Oil & Gas Comms Crucial Conference Is Upcoming!

GVF Oil + Gas Comm banner Oil & Gas Communications South East Asia 2009: Redefining the Digital Oilfield Onshore, Offshore, Deep & Ultra-Deepwater (O&GCSEA2009) will be the conference event for 2009 at which key issues on the current regional oil & gas upstream exploration and production (E&P), and downstream refining and distribution, communications and applications networking agenda will take top priority.

With the per barrel price of crude oil climbing through Q2 2009 to a touch under US$71, and natural gas reaching US$4.15 per MMBTU; together with indications that the demand for crude from the region’s biggest national economy is showing distinct signs of renewed growth — though China’s crude oil imports in March 2009 (16.34 million tons) were 5.5 percent down on a year earlier (17.3 million tons), demand was up by 33 percent on February 2009 (11.73 million tons). China has new domestic capability to create the engineering equipment manufacturing technologies necessary for deepwater exploration and production (E&P) from its 3,000 metre-plus deep offshore reserves, using its first independently designed and built, China National Offshore Oil Corporation-owned, 30,670 ton, 130 metre-high, deepwater semi-submersible drilling platform, all add up to a number of compelling reasons to attend this annual conference.

This conference, the eighth event in the Oil & Gas Communications Conference Series since 2006, is the product of the partnership between Global VSAT Forum (GVF) and United Kingdom Event Management Partners (UK-EMP). Working in association with major oil & gas industry-related organisations, as well as the communications sector, GVF and UK-EMP have designated the Crowne Plaza Mutiara Hotel in Kuala Lumpur as the location for this important venue.

O&GCSEA2009 will examine a combination of satellite-based communications, and integrated satellite-terrestrial hybrid communications solutions, to which the oil & gas industry upstream segment (and downstream segment) turns to play a vital role in providing the essential connectivity and access to vital applications.
