SatBroadcasting: Hip-Hip-HPA For SIS Live

Wavestream logo Wavestream Corporation announced that SIS LIVE, Europe’s largest outside broadcaster and uplink supplier, has selected Wavestream’s nexgen Ku-band High Power Amplifier (HPA) for integration into its uPod Micro mobile satellite uplink terminal. Wavestream’s HPA is part of SIS LIVE’s uplink system delivered to ITN, news provider to ITV and Channel 4, the two largest FTA broadcasters in the United Kingdom. The terminal has been supplied to enhance ITN’s capabilities to provide news from around the world and initially was used for the UK political party conference season.

Wavestream’s solid state Ku-band amplifier provides high output power in a smaller, lighter product package than traditional amplifier solutions. The company’s innovative, next generation Spatial Power Advantage™ technology improves output power while using less energy. The result is a more efficient amplifier solution to help operators reduce costs over the lifecycle of the system.
