GlobeCast... Moving On Up...


[SatNews] GlobeCast has appointeda new managing director for the Company's operations in India.

Named as the new managing director of GlobeCast India is Vinay Sewal who will be based in New Delhi. In this new position, Sewal is responsible for strengthening the firm's business on the Indian sub-continent, in accordance with GlobeCast's commitment to expand its presence in this region. GlobeCast, which has been present in India since 2000, sees growing market potential in the country, thanks to the increasing number of cricket events taking place, among other things. In March and April, for example, GlobeCast delivered two major cricket events — the International Cricket Council (ICC) Cricket World Cup and the Indian Premier League (IPL) Twenty20 — for ESPN Star Sports, Nimbus Communications and Times Internet, and Sony's Multi-Screen Media. Prior to this post, Sewal was vice president, operations and marketing for GlobeCast Asia, based in Singapore, and oversaw all services provided by GlobeCast in Asia.

GlobeCast also announced that Sabil Salim joined the company as the newly appointed vice president of operations for Asia. Salim is based in Singapore and joins GlobeCast from ESPN Star Sports. In his role, Salim reinforces GlobeCast's technical progress and leads all aspects of the company's operational and technological developments. He also manages GlobeCast's relationship with vendors and service suppliers in the region to ensure efficient and effective technical operation.

Both positions report to Darby Sanchez, CEO of GlobeCast Asia, and take effect immediately.
