ETISALAT has selected Selevision and httv to supply a set of interactive TV Services for its E-Vision cable TV network, including an EPG and an innovative Audience measurement system.
httv, a provider for interactive digital TV, and Selevision, an EMEA
broadcast and IPTV system integrator, have been selected by Etisalat to deploy a set of advanced interactive services on E-Vision, the cable TV arm of Etisalat and the leading cable TV provider in the region: EPG (electronic program guide), messaging service, and an innovative digital audience measurement solution. httv will also be providing several data casting solutions “Primestream” to broadcast the applications on the network.
Based on OpenTV middleware technology, the services provided by httv will allow the E-Vision
subscribers to accesses program information and services from their STB with their remote
control. The EPG Electronic program guide will display 7 days of program information for more than 200 TV channels. Subscribers will be able to create favorite lists of channels. Additionally, a direct marketing application which allows the operator to send targeted messages
via TV to individual or groups of subscribers is included, as well as DAM, The Digital Audience measurement application that allows the operator to receive detailed audience information. This measurement system monitors detailed user TV
consumption and is a first step towards an efficient targeted advertising solution based on user profile. With Primestream, competitive data casting solution will broadcast data for iTV application, EIT data for EPG, and so on.
