SIS LIVE — Need To Knows @ NAB (SatBroadcasting™)

SIS LIVE has plans to exhibit its uPod Micro uplink series and RouteCase plug and play flyaway kit at Satellite 2010 in Booth 2008. The Company will also show a fully outfitted Mini Clubman at outside Booth # OE4 to illustrate the Company’s breadth of capabilities.

uPod Micro
The ultra compact and lightweight uPod Micro range, reputedly the most powerful and operator-friendly uplink system currently on the market, received Cable and Satellites’ ‘Best Outside Broadcast Technology’ Award at IBC 2009. uPod Micro is a totally integrated and strikingly compact SNG uplink system that can be easily transported by car, commercial airliner, or even helicopter to any breaking news story packaged in hostess style trolley cases each weighing in at under 50 lbs. The unit meets all checked baggage regulations, assembles easily without any tools, and its lean footprint fits comfortably on any car roof rack, including Mini Coopers. uPod Micro is now available in three models; 0.75m antenna, 1.0m antenna, and 1.3m antenna for full bandwidth broadcast applications and IP.

uPod Micro combines compact cutting edge SNG technology with an integrated bookings process for optimum satellite bandwidth optimization. In sum, this gives the operator single button control of a system offering a major degree of flexibility and significant cost savings. Its built-in GPS locks onto any fixed or inclined satellites to ensure fully automated acquisition. The uPod Micro enables broadcasters to provide SD or HD coverage live on demand effortlessly and securely.

SIS Live's RouteCase
In addition to uPod Micro, SIS LIVE will also show RouteCase, the Company's new compact, powerful, and affordable flyaway production kit. Winner of TV Technology’s IBC 2009 STAR award, RouteCase was designed to answer the need for a powerful and affordable, true plug and play field unit that fits into a carry-on flight case. RouteCase supports the production needs of live event staging, news-gathering, sporting events, and business seminars and presentations. Built to withstand demanding environments, RouteCase is rugged yet easy to use. The unit can handle asynchronous inputs in a mixed format environment, with simultaneous SDI and analogue outputs for streaming and uplinks, and extensive monitoring facilities. The compact unit measures just 16.2” x 12.5” x 5.5” (41cm x 32cm x 17cm) and incorporates all the essential features necessary for live production, including a wireless camera link and quad-split monitoring. Extremely simple to set-up and operate, RouteCase offers three full channels of audio/video processing with mains/battery operation, talkback and remote control. The rugged integrated flight case design underscores its reliability in harsh conditions.
