Vizada is announcing two significant enhancements to its current Inmarsat BGAN, Swift Broadband and Fleet Broadband service platforms. For commercial service, the company plans to integrate the Expand WAN Optimization and Acceleration Technology for its current Inmarsat offerings. In addition, Vizada is deploying a new PoP in Paumalu, HI, to benefit all Inmarsat I4 services for land, maritime and aeronautical customers. This announcement coincides with the Inmarsat Aeronautical Conference in Munich, Germany where Vizada will be previewing these new technologies. “This enhancement offers our customers requiring high data throughput, a powerful, trustworthy new option,” said Michelle Wagner-Suziedelis, Senior Director, Solutions Engineering & Commercial Strategy & Product Management – Aero for Vizada. “Expand enables data intense applications to work seamlessly and efficiently over satellite.”
Vizada plans to provide the Expand WAN Optimization and Acceleration Technology as a Value Added Service. Customers will be able to easily integrate it with products from key Inmarsat terminal manufacturers, such as Thrane & Thrane and EMS. In addition, Vizada is announcing plans to deploy a new BGAN, Swift Broadband and Fleet Broadband PoP in Paumalu, HI. This PoP will be co-located with the Inmarsat SAS and will benefit all Inmarsat I4 services for land, aero and maritime customers. The new PoP and its associated services complement Vizada’s network of existing PoPs, including those at Amsterdam, New York City, Aussaguel and Hong Kong. Like Expand optimization and acceleration capabilities, the Paumalu PoP will be integrated with the Vizada suite of Value Added Services. The new Expand and PoP capabilities will be available to customers in Q3 of 2011.
