[SatNews] These two entities have been doing broadcasting business with one another for some time...
The South African PSL has awarded its broadcast rights to SuperSport for the 2012/2013 to the 2016/2017 seasons, following a tender process. SuperSport is the rights holder of the PSL rights for the current cycle, which expires at the end of the 2011/2012 season. SuperSport was awarded the composite package, which includes all broadcast rights packages made available by the PSL.
A feature of the award is that, for the first time, rights have been awarded by the PSL on a platform-neutral basis with immediate effect. This means that PSL content will be available on mobile and Internet platforms as of the current season. Along with MultiChoice Africa and M-Net, SuperSport is a wholly owned subsidiary of the MIH Group, which is listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange, NASDAQ ,and the Amsterdam Stock Exchange. On a smaller scale, SuperSport International Holdings Ltd. is comprised of a number of sports teams and organiszations.
