Ariane 5 Now Set For Dual Payload Liftoff


Ariane 5 generic liftoff photo The sixth Ariane 5 mission of 2008 has been set for December 20, 2008, carrying a dual satellite payload for the European telecommunications operator Eutelsat. This will be Arianespace’s final mission of this year, as well as the 42nd launch of an Ariane 5. The heavy-lift Ariane 5 ECA version will launch HOT BIRD-9, which has a liftoff mass of 4,880 kg., along with the 3,460-kg. W2M satellite.
