The Company's fifth-generation H.264 technology, the Viper — a compact, integrated appliance for capturing, streaming, reviewing, distributing, and publishing multistream content, will be highlighted. The Viper can be used as a stand-alone device to bring powerful recording, streaming, and VoD capabilities directly from event centers by capturing and distributing multiple HD video sources or HD video and computer display sources simultaneously. The Viper supports record/review/publish and live-streaming applications. The Viper's touch screen provides a simple user interface programmed to serve a user's particular media publishing needs. The Viper can also be integrated as a remote contributor to Haivision's Furnace™ IP video system, enabling a distributed recording architecture without relying on central network video recording capacity to accommodate every user.
And speaking of Furnace, this important sixth revision of the acclaimed IP video system brings forward advanced recording and publishing features to enable clients to capture and distribute synchronized multistream video content. The VF recorder module is enhanced to support recording and review of up to four simultaneous video streams associated within a combined video asset. During the recording, real-time metadata can be applied (HotMarks™) to all streams, either through the user interface or as triggered by third-party control systems. HotMarks enable viewers to search for and jump to specific tagged events quickly. The VF Publisher module is introduced to establish automated ingest and publishing of content. After a record process, users can instantly assign content to specific groups, make the content available within the web portal, email links to specific users or groups, or deposit the content into third-party systems for further editing.
Also at CommunicAsia2011, Haivision will highlight the latest Makito™ Decoder, an H.264 decoder that supports video up to 1080p60. When paired with the popular Makito HD H.264 encoder, this system provides low-latency decoding and efficient delivery of HD video via HD-SDI or HDMI output. Sharing the space-saving, miniblade form factor and low power requirements of the Makito encoder, this new product is an optimal solution for medical and military applications seeking a professional-grade, low-latency, high-performance video decoding solution.
Haivision will also showcase the latest Makito™ HD video encoder, which now supports component analog and DVI inputs. The Makito represents the first and only full-featured high-performance compact encoder to combine the efficiencies of H.264 video compression and the image quality of full HD video within a very small form factor at a very competitive price point. The Makito encoding system delivers low-latency, full-frame-rate H.264 encoding of HD video up to 1080p60, or computer graphics resolutions up to 1280x1024 75Hz (SXGA). The Makito incorporates HiLo-Streaming™, the ability to encode once and emit both high- and low-bandwidth streams simultaneously, and MultiStreaming™, the ability to send streams with different IP encapsulation to different destinations. When integrated with the Furnace™ IP video system, the Makito also distributes 100-percent secure and robust video. The Makito offers the most efficient and affordable distribution, capture, and rebroadcast of HD video.
