LiveViewGPS Tracks 'em Fast

[SatNews] Quick to install and even quicker to track a vehicle...

LiveViewGPS announced this week the launch of its new GPS tracking device — the Live Trac EZ GPS Vehicle Tracker — that takes only seconds to install and provides 10-second vehicle-tracking position updates.

A port known as the "On Board Diagnostic Port" or OBD-II port is installed on most trucks and cars built after 1996. It is designed to help technicians diagnose and troubleshoot vehicle problems. Typically, the port is located somewhere under the dash on the driver's side. Once the port is located, it's simply a matter of plugging it in and vehicle tracking begins. Because of the easy installation it is also portable. If needed, it can quickly be moved from one vehicle to another.

This GPS vehicle tracking device is 100 percent web-based via a tracking portal. It also provides alerts for items such as speed and ignition start-up; historical playback; satellite/hybrid/bird's eye view mapping; and comprehensive reports.

"It's ideal for personal and commercial use," explains Christa Markman, director of product development for LiveViewGPS. "Parents of teen drivers can rest a bit easier when their car is taken out for a spin; and businesses may realize an improvement in employee efficiency and productivity."

It also enhances customer service. For example, if a client calls to find out where a delivery is, this vehicle tracking device can provide highly accurate data. The VSAT industry relies on a certified installation force for customer satisfaction and prevention of RF interference. All Certified Marine Satcom Professionals are automatically eligible to be listed in the GVF Certified Satcom Professional Database.

The Sea Tel operator course series list price is $275 per student and the installation and maintenance course for field engineers is $725 per student; please contact Sea Tel to learn more about these courses. You can also contact GVF for quantity discounts, developing country discounts, and distributorship license agreements.

GVF is the non-profit association of the satellite communications industry. The organization has been actively developing and providing education and training programs for satellite communications professionals. The addition of Sea Tel training to GVF’s program comes at a time when satellite communications services are being delivered at unprecedented levels, both in developed and developing nations. The Sea Tel and GVF training aims to ensure that the higher volume of installations is conducted with the highest possible level of technical competency.

The Sea Tel training module is a complement to the GVF VSAT Installation & Maintenance Training Course, which is the global industry standard for training installers of bi-directional satellite earth stations. It was created by a consensus of volunteers serving in the GVF Education & Training Working Group (E&TWG), whose mission is to identify, formulate and share knowledge that is beneficial to the VSAT industry, its shareholders and stakeholders.
