[SatNews] A multi-year agreement has been signed by two firms to ensure additional capacity for their customers.

SpeedCast has signed a multi-year agreement with SES WORLD SKIES, a division of SES S.A. (Euronext Paris and Luxembourg Stock Exchange: SESG), for additional capacity on SES’ NSS-6, NSS-7, and NSS-12 satellites to serve the growing demand of its maritime customers in the Middle East, African, and South American regions, including offshore Brazil. SpeedCast has expanded its capacity on the NSS-6 South East Asia beam and acquired new capacity on the NSS-6 Middle East, NSS-7 South American, and NSS-12 East Africa beams as part of its global maritime network expansion plans. The company addresses the surging demand from SpeedCast’s maritime customers with a total of more than 35 MHz of SES capacity, and this new agreement marks the continuation of SpeedCast’s expansion. SpeedCast has successfully expanded its operations, supporting its customers’ expansion into new markets. SpeedCast will continue to execute on its global expansion plans, investing in key markets and geographies, in order to provide the highest level of service and support for its customers wherever they are throughout the world.

Plus, SES WORLD SKIES has signed a three-year capacity agreement with Stallion Oilfield Services that will support mission-critical connectivity for hundreds of oil drilling sites throughout America. As part of the multi-million-dollar renewal, Stallion secured a full transponder of bandwidth on SES’ AMC-9 satellite to provide major oil and gas companies with voice and data services over its StaRComm™ VSAT network. Real-time oil drilling data and phone traffic, much of it securely linked to customer corporate networks, is routed through Stallion’s iDirect Evolution hub hosted at SES’ gateway in Woodbine, Maryland.
