atrexx @ The Forefront Of Additional Iraqi SATCOM For Troops + Personnel

VSAT operation in Iraq German provider of telecommunications and broadcast solutions, atrexx Ltd. & Co. KG, has confirmed that it will be offering satellite-based communications services via the Eutelsat EUROBIRD4A satellite to the Iraq region. The company is responding to the continued strong demand for communications services, including for security forces and for soldiers who want to stay in touch with friends and family back home. atrexx2way2sat services will be delivered via the re-positioned EUROBIRD™ 4A satellite located at 4 degrees East that provides a wide beam coverage encompassing Europe, the Atlantic Islands, North Africa, and the Middle East. The key to the 2way2sat services is the new iDirect Evolution platform which includes the nexgen X3 satellite routers, equipped with DVB-S2 standard. The Evolution X3 technology delivers up to 30 percent improved bandwidth efficiency compared to the DVB-S system. The additional use of Adaptive Coding and Modulation (ACM) provides a gain of bandwidth efficiency of as much as 50 percent. These features allow for a range of IP applications, including Virtual Private Networks (VPN), Voice over IP (VoIP) telephony, and videoconferencing. Applications such as corporate networks, point-of-sale, SCADA, telemetry and multimedia streaming are also supported with ease. The new technology is cost effective and provides optimized applications, even under difficult weather conditions at the uplink station in Europe.
