Tata Sky Reaches New Heights

Tata-sky NDS, a major provider of technology solutions for digital pay-TV announced that Tata Sky, the leading Direct-to-Home (DTH) service provider in India, has launched India’s first EPG in the Hindi language in partnership with NDS. NDS has been Tata Sky’s technology partner since its service launch in 2006 and uses its VideoGuard® conditional access (CA) and MediaHighway® middleware. NDS CA and DRM technology protects over 90.3 million digital devices around the world. Middleware from NDS has been deployed in over 92.5 million devices.

NDS Hindi is spoken by 40 percent of India’s one billion population. The design and delivery of the Hindi EPG is the first of its kind in the India pay-TV market. In India, NDS has local sales and support offices in Mumbai and New Delhi, and an R&D center in Bangalore employing more than 1,000 people. The advanced technology provides subscribers with the flexibility to choose the language in which they want to view their daily TV program listings at the press of a button.
