[SatBroadcasting(tm)] Rugby Union’s iconic southern hemisphere competition runs from February to May, after an historic first night match featuring brand new team, the Melbourne Rebels.
It’s Super 15 time ... 15 teams, three countries of origin, millions of viewers internationally and, for the first time in 2011, the Rebels as a 15th team and more action in HD with GlobeCast Australia. Super 15 is the only sporting tournament in the world that is played across so many different time zones, around Australia, in New Zealand and South Africa. However, viewer interest in the showdowns extends further, as far as Europe and the Middle East. In 2011, from Friday, February 18, when teams including the debutante Rebels run on to fields, GlobeCast Australia will be moving the action live around the Globe. Client networks through until May include BSkyB UK, Sky New Zealand, FOX Sports, Fiji TV, JSports Japan, MNet South Africa, Sky Italia and the Australia Network across Asia to India. GlobeCast Australia uses its owned and operated satellite leases and its global fibre network to move the games exclusively to key international broadcasters. GlobeCast Australia has a stellar sporting pedigree, globally delivering all codes of football, cricket, major golf and tennis tournaments, motor racing, horse racing and surf events, to name a few; along with coverage of entertainment, major events and news; and more than 130 Direct to Home channels over Australasia. All this is controlled from a state of the art 24/7 broadcast centre in Sydney, with some key events delivered not only to television networks but also to cinemas, internet and mobile phone platforms, in SD, HD or 3D.
