[SatNews] Bentley Walker has now made available new C-band satellite Internet options for all customers in Africa, Europe, and the Middle East.
The new system will bring two-way broadband Internet to remote areas. It has been created to offer a class leading high strength and reliable satellite service to remote areas. One of the key advantages to C-band satellite is that it is able to maintain a better signal during heavy rain and during storms. The long wave length used by the equipment works more efficiently and provides a better signal in bad weather than the typical short wavelength systems that are normally used. This is an essential advantage for many places which suffer from adverse weather conditions on a regular basis. Bentley Walker are now able to offer a range of C-band packages to suit customers who need a rain fade resistant remote internet connection. This includes dedicated connections (1:1) contention for corporate users through 5:1 and 10:1 contention packages which allow for remote service to be had at an affordable price.
A number of clients have signed up to the service which can be enabled through existing hardware in many cases. The C-band satellite service uses 1.8m dishes that are already commonly in use in Africa. The recommended modem is the iDirect Evolution X3, which will already be familiar to a high number of users. The Bentley Walker C-band satellite internet service is uplinked from Sardinia through the new Skylogic teleport. The installation in Sardinia is a progressive ground station utilising the latest technology. Its location also makes it ideal for delivering broadband services in Africa.
