Harris Corporation's Falcon III AN/PRC-117G(V)1(C) manpack networking radio has fulfilled Joint Tactical Radio System test requirements. The latest testing milestones included certifications from the
JTRS Joint Test and Evaluation Lab (
JTEL) and
Joint Interoperability Test Command (
JITC). The JTRS-approved
Falcon III AN/PRC-117G(V)1(C) multiband manpack allows the warfighter access to secure IP data at on-air rates up to 5 Megabits per second using its Type-1 certified, SCA-compliant software-defined architecture. To date, the AN/PRC-117G has received four major technical certifications, including...
- National Security Agency Type-1: Certifying that AN/PRC-117G protects
voice and data to TOP SECRET levels
- Joint Test and Evaluation Lab (JTEL), JTRS Program: Certifying that
the operating environment of the AN/PRC-117G is fully compliant with
version 2.2 of the Software Communications Architecture (SCA)
- Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC): Certifying that the radio
meets the Narrowband Interoperability Assessment
- Joint Interoperability Test Command: Certifying that the radio is
compliant with DAMA satellite communications standards
The AN/PRC-117G is the first and only combined wideband/narrowband tactical radio to be deployed by the
U.S. Department of Defense. The radio provides the warfighter with reliable and secure access to data-intensive applications, such as streaming video and biometrics, while simultaneously meeting legacy narrowband interoperability requirements and future JTRS networking capabilities. The Falcon III AN/PRC-117G is significantly lighter and consumes less power than previous generations of manpack radios. The AN/PRC-117G provides wideband networking through the
Harris Advanced Wideband Networking Waveform (
ANW2) and the
Soldier Radio Waveform (
SRW). The radio also includes
SINCGARS,
Havequick II, the
Harris High Performance Waveform (HPW),
UHF DAMA SATCOM and programmable encryption. Due to its compact nature, the AN/PRC-117G fits into all standard SINCGARS installations.
