IDC — It's All About Support For Warfighters Via CDN (SatBroadcasting™)

International Datacasting Corporation (TSX:IDC) has received a contract from the Canadian Department of National Defence, (DND), valued at $2.8 million CDN for the continued operation of Canadian Forces Radio and Television, (CFRT). The contract represents the first of two renewal options that are part of the overall contract that IDC won in a competitive tender process in December, 2008.

The Canadian Forces Radio and Television (CFRT) network delivers entertainment programming, sports and news over two television channels (English and French) as well as FM radio. IDC provides the service to Canadian Forces and peacekeeping troops deployed in regions around the globe including the Middle East, Eastern Europe, and Africa. Today CFRT serves Canadian Forces stationed in Afghanistan and in other areas around the world. IDC is responsible for all aspects of programming including negotiating rights and permissions, scheduling, recording, and uplinking the network from its Ottawa based network operations center.
