Uplogix Recovery For Net Devices

Uplogix has announced the availability of its Uplogix Remote Management Operating System (RMOS) v4.0 intelligent software platform.

Uplogix RMOS v.401 graphic RMOS v4.0> powers the Uplogix appliances to automate the management and recovery of network devices, reducing the cost and risk of remote network infrastructure. The new version features expanded support for single command-and-response actions removing the requirement of custom device drivers to control a wide variety of infrastructure devices. This capability gives enterprise IT staff an automated approach that console vendors and software-only network and systems management (NSM) solutions fail to deliver. Uplogix RMOS is the first software platform to integrate IT operations and security functions — such as secure remote access, local performance monitoring, policy enforcement, configuration management, fault management and service level management — into a single solution to dramatically reduce IT support costs and risks in managing distributed IT infrastructures. The v4.0 release expands the automation and management capabilities that all Uplogix appliances provide out-of-the-box without the traditional requirement of custom device drivers. Uplogix controls most infrastructure gear: routers, switches, firewalls, intrusion prevention systems, WAN accelerators, GPS, satellite modems, servers and other IP devices.

Uplogix RMOS v4.0 automates up to 70 percent of routine maintenance and recovery operations, reducing IT support costs by 25 to 50 percent and freeing IT staff to focus on tougher problems and new solutions. Other new features include:
  • Advanced Support for Satellite and Radio Communications. Provides additional advanced drivers for global broadband VSAT providers and industrial microwave radio networks used in SCADA networks
  • Security Access for MSPs. Managed Service Providers (MSPs) have different access needs for securely managing devices operating on different customer networks and across security zones. Uplogix RMOS v4.0 integrates with SOCKS proxy to connect to devices behind firewalls at different customer sites from one workstation while maintaining security between customers
  • Expanded Access to Devices. Port Forwarding enables Uplogix appliances to securely connect and manage devices without a console port, or to apply SRM functionality in a session between a workstation and device connected to an Uplogix appliance
  • Improved Usability and Scalability for SRM Administration. As the NOC’s Web-based, centralized point of control for SRM deployments, the Uplogix Control Center has an improved user interface for better navigation and increased scalability for up to 250 SRM appliances and 8,000 devices in typical configurations
