NOORSAT Scores! Chosen By Al Jazeera For FIFA

[SatNews] NOORSAT was selected by Al Jazeera network to provide satellite capacity to backup the FIFA World Cup 2010 coverage, including the use of the NOORSAT Bahrain teleport as an alternative transmission facility.

The cooperation aims to ensure that football fans have continuous and reliable viewing of their favorite matches on Al Jazeera Sports channels.

This backup service is carried on NOORSAT 1 satellite at 25.5 degrees East (Badr Al-Arab) to offer immediate transmission when necessary.

NOORSAT 1 satellite is located at the popular Badr Al-Arab orbital hotspot, and is used for Direct to Home TV service that reaches millions of homes with high power transmission covering the Arab World without the need for realignment of their dishes or any modifications to receivers.

“We are very proud to be in collaboration again with Al Jazeera and support its plans by fully catering to their needs to ensure reliable broadcasting to the loyal World Cup football audience. Previously we provided satellite capacity for sports coverage for Al-Jazeera Sports channels of the Euro Cup 2008 and Asian Games 2006 (Asiad) in Qatar” said Mr. Omar Shoter, NOORSAT CEO.
