GlobeCast Australia... 3D Game On! (SatBroadcasting™)

[SatNews] The Grand Finals of both the Australian Football League (AFL) and National Rugby League (NRL) football codes will be delivered live in 3D to cinemas, via GlobeCast Australia networks and services.

Roadshow Films, Channel 7 and the AFL are making Seven's coverage of the 2010 Toyota AFL Grand Final available in full 3D at selected Village and Greater Union cinemas, equipped with satellite receive equipment to access the GlobeCast Australia signal. The event is live this Saturday, September 25th. Channel Nine's Wide World of Sports coverage of the 2010 NRL Telstra Premiership Grand Final on Sunday, October 3rd, will also be live in cinemas in 3D.

GlobeCast Australia has been at the forefront of 3D innovation in 2010, beaming 15 FIFA games live from South Africa in HD and 3D, to cinemas across Australia and New Zealand; along with three State of Origin Rugby League games. The Company has also been successfully involved in the initial 3D broadcast trials and deliveries to network television. Further, its GlobeCam unit has pioneered successful transmission of 3D pictures live from on board V8 Supercars.
