In this role, he will be responsible for the overall business strategy and direction for Inmarsat Government. Helfgott has more than 20 years of senior executive leadership experience across a number of technology and service sectors. Helfgott joined Inmarsat in April 2011 as president of Inmarsat Inc. and senior vice president of business development and strategy for the parent company, Inmarsat plc. In this position, he was responsible for development functions across the Group including strategic planning, M&A, new market development, technology strategy and government-policy outreach.
Prior to joining Inmarsat, Helfgott held leadership positions in the satellite communications and intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance (ISR) technology market including Cobham plc, where served as president of the wireless ISR technology business unit; DataPath Inc., where he was president and CEO; and SES Americom Government Services, where he held the position of president and CEO. Helfgott holds an M.B.A. from the Darden School and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia. He also attended the Wharton School’s executive development program.
