TCS Funded... To Hang Tough With US Army In Afghanistan

[SatNews] TeleCommunication Systems, Inc. (TCS) (NASDAQ: TSYS) announced that it has been awarded incremental funding of $2 million to provide the U.S. Army Central Command (USARCENT) with space segment for its Afghanistan operations. This award is an exercised option on an existing delivery order of $5.9 million issued by the Defense Information Technology Contracting Organization (DITCO). TCS provides reliable and secure mobile communication technology.

This is the second year of service on a three-year contract if all options are exercised. USARCENT is funding this procurement through GSA's SATCOM II contract vehicle. "TCS is solidly positioned to deliver managed bandwidth to USARCENT in support of its military objectives," said Jay Icard, vice president of TCS' government solutions group. "We look forward to fulfilling USARCENT's future managed bandwidth needs as their value-added solutions partner."
