Celebrating 40 Years In Business — NSSL

NSSL headquarters In the same momentous year that man walked on the moon and Woodstock occurred, NSSL launched as a company in the U.K. This October NSSL will celebrate its 40th anniversary. NSSL provide reliable, secure, high speed wireless data and voice services to governments, companies and organisations operating in the following sectors; military, media, construction, marine leisure, mining and maritime. Satellite based communication can be used at sea, in remote areas on the move or from a fixed site. In fact, satellite communication can keep anyone ‘in touch’ as long as ‘line of sight’ can be established between the satellite and the user.

When NSSL first launched in 1969, the business provided radio communications for the aero and maritime sector, before moving into satellite communications for the maritime industry in 1979. Today, NSSL is a Tier 1 Distribution Partner for Inmarsat and a Tier 1 Service Provider for Thuraya and owns and operates its own DVBS2 earth stations for its CruiseIP and BroadIP services. This means NSSL is one of the leading providers of satellite equipment, service contracts and maintenance throughout the world. And, NSSL also enjoy a blue-chip client list including Associated Press, BBC, BW Shipping and the Foreign & Commonwealth Office, to name but a few. Now, the company has offices around the world, with a HQ in Redhill Surrey and the company employs 84 staff members.

To celebrate the Company's 40th anniversary, NSSL is launching a super speedy 4mb broadband service for CruiseIP and BroadIP customers. For the same monthly fee as the current 3MB service, users will now have access to 4MB broadband connectivity across the whole of NSSL’s DVBS2 coverage area.
