This amendment introduces a licence regime for frequency use by satellite operators who have obtained, or will obtain, use rights through the Netherlands to transmit radiocommunication signals from a satellite. The amendment aligns the Dutch Telecommunications Act with the procedural obligations for satellite communication as established in the Radio Regulations of the International Telecommunications Union (ITU). The Dutch Telecommunications Act already governs the license procedure for radio signals from a ground station to a satellite station .
