Smaller Footprint, Improved Performance For SBRs From Diodes Inc.

Diodes Inc. SBR10U200P5 Diodes Incorporated has introduced model SBR10U200P5, the first in a series of high-voltage Super Barrier Rectifiers (SBR®) packaged in the compact, thermally-efficient, proprietary PowerDI5® package.

The rectifier improves compact power supply functionality and performance in notebook power adapters, universal chargers, telecom power supplies and similar products. Addressing a broad application base, it can serve as an output diode in power supply output stages, a catch diode in Buck regulator circuits, a freewheeling diode in motor drive circuits, and as a boost diode. The SBR10U200P5 is the smallest leaded, 200V-rated, 10A rectifier available. The superior thermal resistance of the patent-pending PowerDI5® enables the device to deliver twice the power density of Schottky diode Dpak solutions, from a PCB footprint that is 40 percent smaller. The rectifier delivers an industry-leading, low-forward volt drop (VF) of 0.7V at 10A rated current, at a junction temperature of 125 degrees C. The low-profile, off-board package height of 1.1mm offers a maximum rated junction temperature (Tj) of 175°C and allows for the removal of snubber circuits from power supply outputs, simplifying designs and reducing end product cost.
