L-3 Electron Devices... Small + Powerful... (Microwave)

[SatNews] L-3 Electron Devices announced that it is introducing its...

...smallest microwave power module to date. The new NanoMPM® amplifier represents a breakthrough form factor in microwave amplifiers, achieving greater than 40 watts of saturated Ku-band output power while weighing in at less than 1.5 pounds. This ultra-compact size, weight and power (SWAP)-sensitive module is just 5.5″ x 3.04″ x 1″ in size and consumes less than 10 watts of power in standby mode, with total RF efficiency exceeding 25 percent during operation from a common 28 VDC bus.

The NanoMPM is ideal for a wide variety of ground, airborne and naval applications and can be used for smaller scale communications or radar programs. It can also be reconfigured to operate over the 6 to 18GHz range for compact electronic warfare requirements. Features of interest include an environmental operating temperature range of -40 to +85°C, a rated altitude of 50,000 feet and spurious performance of -50 dBc. Fully user-controlled, the amplifier can be operated in either CW or Pulse mode.
