Sevis' Better Backhauling With Datum Certification

Sevis Systems 6000 Sevis Systems, a global provider of advanced mobile solutions, has announced they have successfully certified their 6000 Series mobile backhaul products with Datum Systems’ PSM-500 Series SCPC modems.

As part of the certification, Sevis products were networked with Datum’s solution and tested against a GSM traffic generator to ensure that:
  • All voice codecs, signaling, and data were supported.
  • GSM traffic was optimized at a rate of 50 percent or better across serial and IP interfaces.
  • Latency introduced by each product was minimized.
  • The appropriate Quality of Service (QoS) was applied for each type of traffic flow.
The Sevis 6000 Series mobile backhaul solution significantly reduces the cost of the network infrastructure between cell towers, base station controllers, and mobile switching centers by optimizing bandwidth on A.bis, A.ter, A, and E interfaces without impacting network QoS. Furthermore, the 6000 Series is an industry first in that the platform also offers enhanced software applications to mobile operators.
