World Teleport Association... Moving On Up...


The World Teleport Association (WTA) announced the results of elections for its Board of Directors for the fiscal year that began April 1, 2010. Elected to three-year terms on WTA’s Board were:
  • David Justin, CEO, GlobeCast America. Mr. Justin was tapped to head GlobeCast’s Americas unit in 2009 after a successful tenure as CEO of GlobeCast Asia, where he doubled the company’s revenues in three years and oversaw the broadcasting of the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. Prior to his positions with GlobeCast, he headed the business unit of France Telecom Long Distance charged with providing services to satellite operators.
  • Serge Van Herck, CEO, Newtec. Mr. Van Herck was appointed CEO in 2006, after serving as the company’s Director of Business Development for Asia. Prior to joining Newtec, he served as Senior Manager at Accenture and Head of Satellite Services at Belgacom, where he was a member of the Eutelsat Board of Signatories.
  • Mahendra Nath Vyas, Director, Essel Shyam Communications. Mr. Vyas is a co-founder and member of the management team of this prominent Indian teleport, to which he brings decades of experience in satellite communications with companies including Bharat Electronics and the Indian Space Research Organization. As a design engineer, he developed subsystems for India’s first communications satellite transponder, defense VSAT networks and digital SCPC VSAT networks.
