Vislink... @ NAB 2013 With... (SatBroadcasting™—Transmission)

[SatNews] VISLINK has introduced the NewStream multi-mode mobile transmission system.

The NewStream is a state-of-the-art vehicle system combining Satellite News Gathering (SNG), Electronic News Gathering (ENG), and Cellular News Gathering (CNG) in one compact rack mounted unit. This new multi-mode system is the most comprehensive mobile broadcast system available today. The NewStream combines licensed and unlicensed RF technologies together within a user-friendly platform. As the newest addition to VISLINK’s LiveGear brand, the NewStream provides multiple ways to transmit up to two simultaneous live videos; anytime, anywhere.

The NewStream was designed with today’s broadcaster in mind. This new platform is cost effective, space saving and operator friendly delivering power packed performance in a 2 rack unit design. The NewStream supports a wide range of frequency bands including 2-2.5, 4.5-5.0, 6.4-7.1, 12.7-13.25, plus a dual band 2/7GHz option,. With its ergonomic programmable multi-function OLED push button switches, the system minimizes front panel congestion while automatically configuring based on the user’s mode of operation. The addition of high RF digital power amplifiers provides exceptional operating performance, especially relating to linearity and MER performance. Cellular wireless technologies are supported through a six channel bonded 3G, 4G, LTE outdoor unit that can be mounted on a vehicle’s roof-top or mast. For SNG applications there is full control of an integrated satellite upconverter with L-band output offering DVB-S and DVB-S2 modulation. Based on a future-proof platform, the NewStream is the industry’s most versatile implementation of emerging communications technologies.

A demo of the NewStream and the entire suite of LiveGear products at NAB2013 can be seen in Booth C6508.
