Uplogix®, a provider of secure remote management (SRM) solutions announced that Navix Distribution has become its first Distributor for South Africa and has already begun working on projects with Managed Service Partners, Financial Service Companies and also Telecommunications Operators. Johannesburg-based Navix Distribution has already completed the process of training staff and providing demonstration Uplogix Appliances to its growing channel in South Africa.

“Uplogix’ Secure Remote Management platform is a unique product and fits particularly well to address many of the challenges facing organizations managing IT across Africa,” explained Fred Swanepoel, Business Development Manager for Navix.  Swanepoel believes that organizations with distributed sites have traditionally struggled to remotely manage IT equipment due to a lack of onsite expertise. Instead, they have relied on dispatching technical staff by road to deal with even relatively simple issues. “We have already signed up a Managed Service Partner which we are now training and have similar opportunities which we are qualifying as potential Uplogix accredited resellers” Swanepoel continued.

“The flexibility of the Uplogix appliance is very important, and its ability to connect via satellite, PSTN and GSM in the event of a network failure is critical to many of our potential customers” added Swanepoel. Navix will initially be targeting larger corporate and multinationals in key sectors such as financial services, IT and telecoms.
