[SatNews] Be it a vehicles or mobile platforms, antennas can now go anywhere, and at any time.
C-COM Satellite Systems Inc. (TSXV: CMI) will be unveiling two new mobile satellite antenna systems on March 15th in booth #672 at Satellite 2011 in Washington DC. The iNetVu® Airline Checkable antenna system that will be on display is an advanced, high precision, 1.2m segmented carbon fibre antenna, designed to be airline checkable. Lightweight and portable, the flyaway antenna fits into two easy-to-carry luggage-like cases, and can be assembled in less than 10 minutes without any tools. The antenna will automatically acquire satellite with the simple press of a button.
The iNetVu® Next-Gen 1.2 meter Drive-Away antenna is a fully redesigned vehicle-based antenna system. Preceded by the highly successful iNetVu® mobile antenna platform, of which thousands have been deployed worldwide, this NexGen antenna system offers greater pointing accuracy, lower weight and reduced stow height. The new antenna has an aerodynamic shape when stowed on a vehicle and will automatically acquire satellite in less than two minutes. “We expect to see many of our new products deployed by the military, oil and gas exploration companies, various government departments, satellite news gathering organisations as well as emergency management and disaster recovery teams around the world. Just like the existing iNetVu® platforms, we have designed these new products to be highly reliable and very cost effective.” said Leslie Klein, President and CEO of C-COM.
