PolarSat Completes VSATPlus 3 Testing + Receives Initial Customer Order


PolarSat PolarSat Inc. has completed four months of customer trials and demonstrations of the VSATPlus 3 system. The VSATPlus 3 operating over AsiaSat demonstrated seamless mesh connectivity of GSM cellular, VoIP, Video teleconferencing, data file transfers, Internet/Intranet and email.

“The VSATPlus 3 testing we have done is responsible for our initial customer order. VSATPlus 3 is a logical extension to our well-established VSATPlus product line and is in response to our customers’ desires for a mesh IP product,” stated Cos Modafferi, PolarSat’s President and CEO.The VSATPlus 3 will address the growing IP-centric market area. The existing VSATPlus II product will continue to address high-end applications which require circuit -switched applications.

With this general product launch, both the 70MHz and L-band options of the VSATPlus 3 are available for immediate delivery. The VSATPlus 3 will be displayed at the PolarSat booth #1614 at the Satellite 2009 exhibition being held at the Washington DC convention center March 25th -27th. VSATPlus 3 salient features include b> hub less operation of mesh connectivity, Turbo Coding, integrated IP protocol enhancements, and Bandwidth-on-Demand functionality.
