Satnews has learned of the death of William R. Schmidt, XTAR Vice President of Government Services. Bill died suddenly this morning, April 28, of a heart attack. His death came as a great shock to all.

Bill joined XTAR in 2007 and was an essential member of the senior management team. He was a good friend to many and is survived by his wife Candyce, and his family, friends and many industry colleagues are mourning this sudden loss to the industry. Arrangements are underway for his memorial service.
