Global Satellite USA... A Pilot + A Tracker For Maritime (SATCOM)

[SatNews] Global Satellite USA has launched GSatMicro, powered by GSatTrack.com, the smallest....

The GSatMicro device.
....self-contained satellite tracking device that can track and monitor any asset anywhere in the world, using the Iridium network. The GSatMicro has been built with security in mind and has 256-encryption and measures only 42mm x 51mm x 32mm in size and includes a battery, modem and antenna. For the maritime industry, the types of applications that best suits the GSAT Micro is tracking and monitoring boats, fleets of ships simultaneously (one unit per ship), jet skis, tenders, crew or even equipment on the boat. The tracker can even be attached to the starter motor, so if it moved beyond its boundaries and stopped, the boat would not be able to start up again. The GSatMicro has dual rechargeable Lithium Polymer batteries for months of battery life, integrated high gain ceramic antenna, a USB connection for programming, and full two-way communications network. The GSatMicro has a SiRFstarIV GPS that reduces battery drain and also enables a wider usage of monitoring, not just navigation, such as geo-tagging for images, movement and mixed indoor and outdoor applications.

Iridium Pilot
The Company has also launched the Iridium Pilot™, Iridium’s second-generation maritime broadband platform. Iridium Pilot™ will use the Iridium OpenPort® service – the world's first when it comes to fully global maritime broadband. Iridium Pilot™ is engineered for enhanced durability to withstand the harshest maritime conditions, all the while packaged in a small, lightweight antenna. It has a fixed, electronically-steerable, phased-array antenna, designed to maintain connectivity in rough seas. Iridium Pilot™ offers broadband connectivity in addition to three independent phone lines, all of which work simultaneously, with data speeds up to 134 kbps. This is ideal for crew calling, eliminating the need to line up to call. Iridium has also set up flexible and affordable prepaid options for calling at peak times.

The platform offers a suite of new capabilities for vessel telecommunications optimization. These capabilities include a built-in firewall for traffic management and a bulk configuration capability, to assist in efficiently managing large volumes of units. Its small form factor, enhanced capabilities and flexible service packages make Iridium Pilot™ an optimal solution for vessels large and small. In addition, Iridium Pilot™ maintains the best service program in the industry, the Iridium Global Service Program, and the industry's only standard five-year limited warranty. Iridium Pilot™ is the latest example of Iridium's long-term commitment to investment and innovation focused on satisfying communications needs around the globe.

Global Satellite USA will be featuring these products and other services at the Miami Boat Show on Booth #1633 in the Convention Center in the Electronics Section.
